Why You Should Paint in The Summer
A common painting misunderstanding is that it’s advised for all inside paint jobs to be done during the winter. In contrast to this general belief, any time of the year is actually very suitable for interior projects – especially summer time. The hot weather should never be a deterrent for giving your home that long anticipated makeover.
Warm Weather Means Quick Drying
Painting in the Summer has a unique 2 part benefit. Part one is shortening the amount of time it will take in order to prepare your surfaces. Before any painting can begin, you must spackle and prime the walls wherever necessary. The temperatures in summer provide the perfect drying conditions so you can get to painting much quicker. Part two is paint work, as paint has a drying time which will be shortened due to the warm weather, you will be able to achieve more coats per day.
Remember, Summer is your friend BUT avoid intense heat which may negatively effect finishing quality even while the paint is in the can.
Thinner Paint
Another advantage of Summer weather is warmer paint. Warmer paint spreads itself thinner, which prevents the paint from being too viscous or difficult to mix. This proper mixing of the paint allows for much easier application and a better finished result.
Using Natural Sunlight to Your Advantage
Use the Suns Rays to your advantage by harnessing the light to select the perfect colours for your home. Natural sunlight reflects far differently to diffused light and artificial light. Remember, even though the sun does shine brightly in winter, it is not the same as the summer sun. Sunlight can reveal a lot about the way your home looks and feels in different lighting conditions, so use it to your advantage!
